Sugarloaf mtnWe offer hikes into Arizona state-owned land and the Tonto National Forest near Cave Creek. These locations offer miles of trails for your hiking enjoyment. This hiking trail guide will help you select the type of hike you want. We will customize your hike according to our hiking abilities, length of hike and what you want to experience from the Sonoran Desert. Our night hikes are out of this location.

Our Cave Creek hikes start from the Spur Cross Stables, north of Cave Creek at 44029 N. Spur Cross Rd. These trails are in the foothills of and into the Tonto National Forest.

1 Hour Beautiful Desert Hike – A pleasant outing that takes you into the foothills of the Tonto National Forest where you will experience desert plant and animal life.
Adults: $25.00    Youth: $15.00     Under 7: Free

Ocotillo flower2 Hour Cave Creek Hike – Head into the Tonto National Forest along Cave Creek on a gravel and rocky trail. Experience desert plant life, learn about Native America living, and Cave Creek settlement. See a 1,000 year-old petroglyph.
Adults: $40.00    Youth: $25.00     Under 7: Free

4 Hour Petroglyph Hike – Hike along Cave Creek in the Tonto National Forest on a gravel and rocky trail, crossing Cave Creek several times, to a major site of 1,000 year-old Hohokam petroglyphs and metates. Experience desert plant, learn about Native America living, and Cave Creek settlement. 
Adults: $60.00    Youth: $40.00     Under 7: $25.00

4.5 Hour Seven Springs-Crested Saguaro Hike – This hike includes transportation from Cave Creek on a scenic 45-minute drive to Seven Springs in the Tonto National Forest northeast of Cave Creek. The hike starts in the placid wooded area of upper Cave Creek to a deep gorge to see a rare crested saguaro cactus.

5 Hour Hohokam Village Ruins Hike – This challenging hike takes you up Cave Creek valley into the Tonto National Forest to a petroglyph site, followed by a climb up the end of a mesa to the Chalk Canyon Ruins, the former village of the Hohokam people who lived in the region 1,000 years ago. The hike includes a sandwich lunch and snacks.
Adults: $80.00    Youth: $50.00     Under 7: $30.00

6.5 Hour Sevens Springs Hike – Experience Cave Creek valley on a 12-mile excursion that takes you the length of Cave Creek valley between Skull Mesa and New River Mesa. The hike includes a sandwich lunch and snacks at an old stagecoach stop and return ground transportation.
Adults: $120.00  Youth: $90.00     Under 7: $60.00
